Elvira D'UrsoElvira (D’Aragona) D’Urso, 73, of Terryville, CT, wife of Raymond D’Urso died on Monday, April 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at home.

She was the wife of fifty three years to Raymond D’Urso.

Mrs. D’Urso was born in Italy, August 10, 1939, daughter of Peter and Maria (Pavan) D’Aragona. 

She immigrated to the United States from Italy at the age of seventeen, first settling in the Bronx.  She resided in the Bronx until 1976 when she relocated to Putnam County and in 1993 moved to Terryville, CT.

Elvira is best known for her delicious cooking. She also enjoyed sewing, shopping, and swimming. However, her greatest joy in life was her family. Her beautiful smile and gentle heart will be missed by all. 

In addition to her husband, Raymond, Mrs. D’Urso is survived by a daughter, Sandra Parkes and her husband, Leonard of Terryville, CT; three sons, John D’Urso and his wife, Kristin of New Fairfield, CT, Raymond D’Urso and his wife, Stephanie of So. Salem, NY and Peter D’Urso, also of So. Salem; two brothers, Carlo and Narciso D’Aragona; a sister, Marianna Guerra; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30 AM in St. Mary R.C. Church, 55 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, CT.

Entombment will take place in the Cemetery of the Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
