Carmen F. Catino

Carmen F. Catino, 85, of Danbury, formerly of Stamford, husband of Antoinette (Cortese) Catino died on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Catino was born in Stamford, January 7, 1928, a son of the late John and Mildred (Bafundi) Catino. He attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Catino was a retired trucker for Rings End Lumber where he was employed for forty years prior to his retirement in 1992. After his retirement as a trucker, Mr. Catino then became a merchandise and supply gate check at Rings End Lumber of New Milford.

He was a former member of Sacred Heart Parish of Stamford and attended St. Peter Church, Danbury.

Mr. Catino was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed reading and was a member of the Trucker’s Union-Local 191.

In addition to his wife of sixty years, he is survived by a daughter, Diane Sadowski of Danbury; a son, John P. Catino of Milford, CT; a brother, Theodore Catino of New Hampshire and three grandchildren, Amy Sadowski, Leonard Sadowski, Jr. and Chelsey Catino Marsalini.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Catino was predeceased by a son in law, Leonard Sadowski and by a brother, Edmond Catino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 10 AM in St. Peter Catholic Church, Danbury. 

Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Darien.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
