Edna H. Michael

Edna H. Michael, 98, of Danbury, wife of the late Thomas J. Michael, Sr., died on Friday, January 10, 2014 at her home.

Mrs. Michael was born in Olean, New York, December 23, 1915, daughter of Fannie (Gabriel) and Louis Abdo Rishdan. She attended New York schools and relocated to Danbury with her family in 1929 at the age of fourteen.

A Danbury resident for the past eighty four years, Mrs. Michael was a waitress at the former Lou’s Diner of Danbury and an answering service operator with the former Roto- Phone Answering Service of Danbury.

She was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Parish and its Ladies Guild.

Mrs. Michael is survived by four sons, Thomas J. Michael, Jr. and his wife, Kris, Randall J. Michael and his wife, Nancy, Monsour Peter Michael and His wife, Patricia and Laurence Michael all of Danbury; a sister, Mary Abdo of Danbury; two brothers, Albert Rishdan and his wife, Rose of Danbury and John Rishdan and his wife, Delores of Paramus, NJ; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Christopher, Kara, Rachel, Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph and Amber and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Michael is predeceased by four sisters, Aileen Shaheen, Esther Define, Marsha Taylor and Lulu Montesi.

A Concelebrated Funeral Liturgy will be celebrate on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with the Most Reverend Bishop Robert J. Shaheen, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 5 PM to 8PM in St. Anthony Church, Danbury.
