William W. Walton

William Wilson Walton, 91 of Ridgefield, husband of the late Eleanor (Rinn) Walton and father of Wendy Lee Weaver and the late Scott Mace Walton died on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Walton was born in Philadelphia, PA, February 23, 1921, son of Enoch E. and Eva (Wilson) Walton.  He was raised in the Fordham section of New York, NY and attended local schools.

An artist by profession, Mr. Walton was a retired art director with I.B.M. for thirty-three years.  He was best known and recognized for his drawing of the characters Brenda Starr, Green Hornet and of Captain America.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1964 coming from Smithtown, L.I., New York, Mr. Walton was a past president of I.A.V.A. (International Audio Visual Association), a former Ridgefield Little League coach, played the banjo, harmonica and keyboard.  He was a member of Danbury Senior Center Cellmates and a member of the Yesteryear Melodiers.

In addition to his daughter, Wendy and her husband, Keith and their children, Michael and Laura, Mr. Walton is survived by an additional daughter and her husband, Cathy and Michael Cesario and their children, Damon and Gabrielle of Bellbuckle, TN.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

There will be no calling hours.
