Betty Taylor

Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Corbett) Taylor, 65 of Danbury, wife of Simon J. Taylor died on Saturday evening, July 21, 2012 at her home.

A Danbury native, Betty was born on February 20, 1947, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Keane) Corbett; she attended St. Peter School and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1964 and was a homemaker.

Betty and Simon were married in 1965.

A lifelong Danbury resident, she was a virtual shopper, enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury

In addition to her husband of forty-seven years, Betty is survived by four daughters, Lori Taylor of Naugatuck, Leann Taylor of New York NY, Leslie A. Taylor of Danbury and Kimberly A. Taylor of Brooklyn, NY; five sisters, Mary Ellen Smith, Judy Corbett and Nancy Shaheen all of Danbury, Barbara Danise of Sebastian, FL and Peggy Corbett of Tarpon Springs, FL; 3 “special sisters”, Simone Simon,Donna Weis and Karen Jennings as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday from 4 PM to 7 PM.
