Adele (Shaheen) Simon, 85 of Danbury, died on Monday evening, April 2, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Simon was born in Lawrence, MA, April 21, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Kalil) Shaheen.  She moved with her family from Lawrence as a child to New Jersey and in 1935 relocated to Fall River, MA and resided there until 1946 when she moved to Danbury.

A retired employee of the former Amphenol  Company of Danbury and later General DataCom, Mrs. Simon was a member of AARP, the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic War Veteran Auxiliary  and St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church all of Danbury.

Mrs. Simon is survived by a son, Fred Simon of Danbury; a daughter, Debbie Simon of Danbury; a brother, George Shaheen and his wife, Madeline of Norwood, MA; a sister, Lillian Ameen of Fall River, MA; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simon was predeceased by two sons, Joseph Simon and Infant Boy Simon.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with Father Dany Abiakar officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
