Ilidio Ribeiro, 91 of Danbury, husband of the late Augusta (Do’Abel) Ribeiro died on Tuesday evening, September 18, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Ribeiro was born in Cunha Baixa, Portugal, February 5, 1921, a son of the late Jose and Maria (Encarnacao) Ribeiro.  He was attended schools in Portugal.

He immigrated to the United States in 1966 settling in Danbury and was first employed with the former Bard-Parker Company and later with the Morganti Construction Company.

Mr. Ribeiro was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Danbury.

He is survived by four daughters, Emilia Fernandes and her husband, Acacio, Maria Henriques, Lucia Cantarinha and her husband, Armando, Ana Rodrigues and her husband, Manuel; a son, Armindo Ribeiro and his wife, Rosa; two brothers, Armindo Ribeiro and Manuel Ribeiro; two sisters, Emilia Marques and Rosa Coelho; nine grandchildren, Luis Fernandes, Paul Fernandes, Welson Henriques, Steve Henriques, Eugenia Hurley, Ana Christina Hogdson, Diana Tomas, David Cantarinha and Sofia Rodrigues; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10 AM in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury.

Burial will follow in Cunha Baixa, Portugal.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions in Mr. Ribeiro’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s own choice.
