Fannie Najamy

Fannie Najamy, 93 of Danbury, died at her home on Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Miss Najamy was born in Utica, NY, January 17, 1919, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sarah (Ferris) Najamy.  She moved with her family from Utica to Danbury in 1929 and attended local schools.

A resident of Danbury for the past eighty-three years, Miss Najamy was first employed with the former Novelty Sewing Factory and later with the Barden Corporation. She was a member of St. Ann Melkite Church of Danbury.

Miss Najamy is survived by a sister in law Anne (Mrs. Arthur) Najamy of Danbury and three generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Louis Najamy, Arthur Najamy, Fred Najamy and Abe Najamy two sisters; Marion Najamy and Melvina Najamy and a nephew, Martin Najamy.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Friday , October 19, 2012 at 10:30 am in St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road, Route 39, Danbury with Archimandrite Michael Skrocki officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at St. Ann’s Church on Friday morning after 9:30 am.

Memorial contributions to St. Ann’s Church Building Fund, 181 Clapboard Ridge Rd. or to Regional Hospice and Home Care, 405 Main St., both of Danbury would be appreciated.
