Lucia J. Morelli

Lucia J. Morelli, 90 of New Fairfield, wife of the late John “Jack” P. Morelli died surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 27, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Morelli was born in The Bronx, New York, May 30, 1921, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Mirante.  She attended New York schools.

Mrs. Morelli and her husband, Jack first moved to New Fairfield in 1952 as summer residents and in 1954 they became permanent New Fairfield residents.

Mr. Morelli died in 1972.

Mrs. Morelli was a retired dietician having been employed with the Danbury Hospital for twenty-two years.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, plants and most especially the time shared with her family.

A member of the New Fairfield Senior Citizen Center, Mrs. Morelli was also a member of the Widow’s and Widower’s Group and Parents without Partners.  She was also a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish.

Mrs. Morelli is survived by two sons, John Morelli and his wife, Rhonda and Ralph Morelli and his wife, Leslie all of New Fairfield; a sister, Katy Guernero of The Bronx, NY; five grandchildren and spouses, Scott (Fawnia) Morelli, Christina (David) English, John P. (Sarah) Morelli, Tiffany Morelli and Denise Morelli; and six great grandchildren, Jocelyn Morelli, Bailey Jo Morelli, Morgan Morelli, Dylan English, Daniel English and Carter Morelli.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:30 AM in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield with Father Nick Cirillo, Pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
