Helen P. Minckler

Helen P. Minckler, 76 of Ridgefield, wife of the late Robert A. Minckler died on Sunday afternoon, January 22, 2012 at the Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Minckler was born in Los Angeles, CA, May 22, 1935, daughter of Walter and Edna (Adams) Lundquist.  She attended local schools and graduated from nursing school.

A retired health care agency nurse, Mrs. Minckler worked for health care agencies in the states of Washington and later Vermont.

A resident of Ridgefield for the past two years coming from Northfield, VT, she enjoyed activities at the Ballard Green, Founders Hall and the Ridgefield Library. She attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

Mrs. Minckler was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, attending the many sports and school activities of her grandchildren and most especially enjoyed being with her family.

She was a loving, caring, vibrant individual who had a passion for life.

Mrs. Minckler is survived by a son, Lawrence L. Minckler and his wife, Michelle of Tigard, OR; two daughters, Kathryn A. Minckler of Ridgefield and Mary H. Johnson of Los Angeles, CA and six grandchildren, Piper and Jennifer Johnson, Christina, Melissa and Victoria Lloyd-Williams and Anthony Zuffrea.

Memorial services will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11:30 AM in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 351 Main St., Ridgefield with the Rev. Edward Rice officiating.

There will be no calling hours.

Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
