Angus McGannonAngus Gilmore McConnon, 21, of Ridgefield died early Wednesday morning, January 18, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.   Angus was born in Mt. Kisco, NY on April 27, 1990 and lived his entire life in Ridgefield, CT.  Son of James McConnon of Westport and Julia (Hopkins) Otis of Ridgefield, Angus attended Ridgefield schools, graduating from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 2008.  

At the time of his passing, Angus was a senior at SUNY-Plattsburgh, NY where he was studying audio and digital media.  He was passionate about music, especially live music, and had hoped to pursue a career in the music industry.  An avid outdoorsman, his greatest joy was to spend time with his family on Fire Island and skateboarding, snowboarding in the Adirondacks, hiking, surfing and fishing.  

In his early years, Angus participated in many sports and activities, including Ridgefield Little League, SCOR Soccer League, Pop Warner Football, Ridgefield Youth Lacrosse, RHS JV Lacrosse, Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, Graham Dickinson SPIRIT Skate Park, and the Ridgefield Basketball Association.

He is survived by his mother, Julia (Hopkins) Otis and her husband, David Otis of Ridgefield; his father, James McConnon and his wife,  Colleen Murphy of Westport; two brothers, Evan McConnon of Danbury and Patrick McConnon of San Diego, CA; his stepbrother, David Otis of Manhattan; his  stepsister, Jessica Otis of Astoria, NY; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Hopkins of Sleepy Hollow, NY;  his paternal grandparents Thomas and Virginia McConnon of Lakewood, NY; his loving aunts and uncles, Kate and Howard Greenberg of Westport, Suzanne Chase and Thomas Moseley of Weston, MA, Paul and Rosie McConnon of Florida, John and Diane McConnon of Texas; his cousins, Hannah, Emily, Olivia, Madeleine, Caroline, Bradley, Sarah, Steven, and Stephanie; and so many beloved friends and extended family.

A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 12:30 PM in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends at Kane Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21st from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
