Ronald P. Lindsay

Ronald P. Lindsay, 72 of Bethel, husband of Marie (Parente) Lindsay, died on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Lindsay was born in New York, NY, May 21, 1939, son of Rocco and Antoinette (DePalma) Lizzi.  He was raised in the Bronx and later Mt. Vernon where he attended local schools, Mt. St. Michael Academy and graduated from Iona College with a BBA in Accounting.

An insurance agent for twenty years, Mr. Lindsay later formed his own agency representing Allstate Insurance in Cortland Manor, NY retiring in 2000.

An area resident since 1977 coming from Mt. Vernon, NY, he was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. Mr. Lindsay  also enjoyed photography and was a member of the Candlewood Camera Club  as well as collecting stamps and rare coins. Mr. Lindsay enjoyed the music of the 1950’s and was a member of U.G.A.A.

As a hobby, he operated radio controlled airplanes, model trains and was a ham radio operator.

He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

A softball umpire, he was active in the Bethel Men’s Softball League.

Mr. Lindsay attended the Church of St. Mary, Bethel.

In addition to his wife of forty-six years, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Lindsay and her husband, Paul Camoia of Ridgefield and Janet Lindsay of Bethel.

He also leaves behind his “granddogs”, Sophie, Romeo and Juliette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:30 am in the Church of St. Mary, Bethel.

Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Thursday from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM.
