Agnes Taylor George

Agnes Taylor George, 93 of Danbury died on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care, Danbury.

Mrs. George was born in Paris, Texas, May 29, 1918, daughter of Charles and Nazira (Khoury) George.  She moved with her family in 1930 from Texas to Danbury and has been a resident for the past eighty-two years.

She attended Danbury schools, Danbury High School and graduated from the Park City School of Beauty Culture of Bridgeport, CT.  Mrs. George was first employed at the former Hotel Green Beauty Shop and later established the former Vogue Beauty Salon, West St., Danbury that she operated for forty years prior to her retirement.

Mrs. George enjoyed gardening and trips to Mohegan Sun Resort, was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, Danbury and its Ladies Guild.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Daab and her husband, Bruce of Danbury; two sons, Allan L. George  and his wife, Deborah of Danbury and Jeffrey C. George of Palm Bay, FL; four grandchildren, Jason Cardillo, Jared Cardillo, Shayna George and Katie Marie George, a great granddaughter, Kaley Goane and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. George was predeceased by two brothers and their spouses, Simon and Anna Taylor and Joseph “Mal” and Marcia Taylor.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection will take place on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with Fr. Jean Younes, Pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

There are no calling hours.
