Jack J. Donnellan

Jack J. Donnellan, 77, of New Fairfield, brother of Margaret “Peggy” Vosswinkel of Ridgefield died on Monday evening, December 24, 2012 unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital after being stricken ill.

Mr. Donnellan was born in White Plains, NY, September 15, 1935, a son of John and Mary (Mannion) Donnellan.  He attended White Plains schools, Archbishop Stepinac High School and St. Michael’s College, Winooski, VT.

A retired administrative aide at the Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY, he previously operated the family owned White Swan Tavern of White Plains. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.

A resident of New Fairfield for the past twelve years coming from White Plains, he was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame University.

A former member of the Knights of Columbus, he was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish of New Fairfield.

In addition to his sister, Peggy Vosswinkel and her husband, Henry “Hank” of Ridgefield, he is also survived by two nieces, Deirdre Ferguson and Catherine Donovan; two great nieces, Avery Ferguson and Declan Ferguson and a great nephew, William Donovan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 1 PM in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.

Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6 PM to 8PM.
