Lucy (Chesto) Carrascoso

Lucy Chesto Carrascoso, 96 of Danbury died on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Glen Hill Health Care Center, Danbury.
Mrs. Carrascoso was born in Danbury, November 22, 1915, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances(Margotta) Chesto.  She attended Danbury schools.
A resident of Arizona from 1948 to 2000, she was employed by the State of Arizona Department of Transportation retiring in 1981.  Upon her retirement, Mrs. Carrrascoco was given tribute from the Arizona Secretary of State for her meritorious and exemplary service.  She also worked tirelessly with the National Asthma Center and Children’s Asthma Hospital.
Upon returning to Danbury in 2000, Lucy was an active participant in the Danbury Senior Center, the Cell Mates, Red Hat Society, Colonna Lodge of the Amerigo Vespucci , the Ladies Auxillary of the VFW and St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church and its Holy Family Society all of Danbury.
She is survived by a son, Victor Carrascoso and his wife, Monica of Cooperstown, NY; two daughters, Gale F. Bassett and Bernadette Dennis and her husband, Robert all of Danbury; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren , several cousins and nieces and nephews.
Lucy was the former wife of the late  Epolio :Al” Macchiaverna and the late Marcel Carrascoso.
The Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Rd., Danbury .
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
