Richard Storz Arnold

Richard ArnoldRichard Storz Arnold died peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the age of ninety-seven.  He has lived with his daughter, Jo Frame, in Ridgefield, CT for the last four years.  Born in the Bronx, NY, a graduate from Steven Institute of Technology, he retired in 1982 after 46 years as a mechanical engineer with Carrier Corp. in Syracuse, NY, where he held a number of positions such as Regional Chief Engineer, Director of Application Engineering and Manager of Computer Applications.  He was a member of Theta Nu Epsilon fraternity, a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honorary society, a life member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers.  He was a former member of the Atlanta Athletic Club and the East Lake Country Club.  He served as United Way Fund Chair at Carrier.  He was a long-time member of the DeWitt Community Church.  Among his hobbies were climbing many of the “46” Adirondack Mountains, woodworking and oil painting.

Two wives, Martha Robertson Arnold and Jean Fisher Arnold, also two brothers, LeRoy and Elliott Arnold, and a sister, Olive Sarvis, predeceased him.  Besides his daughter, Jo Frame, he is survived by a son, Richard, of Marietta, GA, two Granddaughters, Kimberly Arnold Piercy of Marietta, GA and, Jennifer Frame Falcone of Falmouth, MA, a grandson, David Frame, of New Canaan and seven great grandchildren.  A brother, Neal, and two stepchildren, John Holmes Jr. of Syracuse, NY and Jill Long of Hayesville, NC, also survive him.  Two stepchildren, Gail Holmes Zelina and Lynn Holmes predeceased him.

There will be a private family ceremony.
