Richard F. "Dick" Warren

Richard F. "Dick" Warren, age 87 formally of Ridgefield died on July 13, 2011 in Towson, MD.

He was born Nov. 14, 1923 in Boston, MA,son of Samuel A. Jr. and Winifred (Freeman) Warren. Dick grew up in the Orient Heights section of East Boston. In June 1941,  he graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in Boston and began his freshman year in Sept. 1941 at Northeastern University. In May 1943, he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 299th Signal Installation Company in France and Germany from Aug 44 through Dec 45. He returned to Northeastern receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering in Jan 1948. In his engineering career he was employed at Western Union Tele. Co.,, Sperry Gyroscope Co, Industrial Nucleonics, RCA and Perkin Elmer O.T.D., retiring in 1986.

On May 10, 1952, he married the former Patricia O'Connor They lived in Syosset, NY, Columbus OH, Cherry Hill NJ and Ridgefield. For several years, they enjoyed a 2 week summer beach vacation at Fenwick Island, Del., at which location, from time to time, were joined by their children, children in laws and grandchildren plus other friends. Dick also enjoyed his winters skiing and participated in many trips with the 70+ ski club and his children. Dick was also a long time fan of the Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by a son Douglas R. Warren and his wife Melissa and their two sons, Daniel and Drew of Baltimore, a daughter Linda W. Christiani and her husband Arthur and their three children, Leah, Peter and Jenna of Easton, CT, and a son Andrew P. Warren and his wife Sharon and their three sons, Matthew, James and Joshua of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph F. Warren and his wife Catherine of Wilmington, MA and their children.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 18th at 10:30 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Sunday, July 17th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
