Laurence Swirsky

Laurence “Larry” Swirsky, 43 of Brookfield, husband of Eileen (Kindelan) Swirsky, died on Wednesday, May 18th, 2011 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends after courageously battling cancer for the past nine months.

Larry was born in New Haven, April 20, 1968, a son of Tina (Herschderfer) Swirsky of Madison, CT and the late Harvey A. Swirsky.  Larry graduated from Wilbur Cross High School and for over two decades owned and operated Quality Plumbing and Heating of Ridgefield.  Larry was beloved by all who knew him.  He was a man of grit, energy and integrity.  His family and friends looked for him for guidance, support and humor.

He deeply loved his family and friends and had a great passion for all things outdoors.  He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and conservation of nature. Larry had a passion for life, a wry wit, common sense and a strong moral compass that set him apart.  He was taken all too soon and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife and mother, Larry is survived by a daughter, Emily Swirsky of Brookfield; a sister, Amy (Swirsky) Trammell of Reston, VA; his mother in law and father in law, Davey and Maryellen Kindelan of Waterbury; four brothers in law; three sisters in law; two nephews; several cousins and many friends.

Graveside funeral services and burial will take place this morning (Friday, May 20th) at 9:30 am in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Gray’s Bridge Rd., Brookfield with Rabbi Eric Eisenkramer of Temple Shearith Israel officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in honor or memory of Larry may be made to the Praxair Cancer Center, Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT  06810.
