Charles J. Simon

Charles J. Simon, 92, of Danbury, husband of the late Amelia (Najam) Simon died on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Simon was born in Methuen, MA, October 2, 1918, a son of the late Joseph and Leya (Corey) Simon.

A resident of Danbury since 1929 coming from Lawrence, MA, he attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School.

He was a World War Two U.S. Army veteran.

In early years, Mr. Simon was a hatter and later worked and retired from Viking Wire Company of Danbury.

He was an avid fisherman.

Mr. Simon was a member of the American Legion of Danbury, the Lebanon-American Club and of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church.

He is survived by a son, Fred Simon, a daughter, Deborah Simon, a sister, Helen Corona all of Danbury and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grandnephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Simon was predeceased by a son, Joseph Simon; a sister, Louise Felicissimo and four brothers, Fred Simon, Edward Simon, Butch Simon and Samuel Simon.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, February 9th at 11AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with Fr. Jean Younes officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

Friends will be received at St. Anthony Church on Wednesday morning after 10AM.
