Bernadine Silverman

Bernadine Silverman, 94, mother of Carol Rosenblum of Danbury, died on April 9th, 2011 at Hancock Hall, Danbury after the lengthy presence of Alzheimer’s disease.

Mrs. Silverman was the wife of the late Louis Silverman and was a former Lauderhill, FL resident prior to moving to Danbury.

She was born October 25, 1916 in Patterson, NJ, daughter of the late Harry and Celia (Cohen) Wein.

With a family background in silk manufacturing and garment finishing, she had a lifelong affair with beautiful fabrics and took pride in her presentation, bringing style and brightness into everyday life.

Bernadine was an avid reader and had a passion for politics, business and shopping.  She considered her life to be charmed.

In addition to her daughter Carol Rosenblum of Danbury, Mrs. Silverman is survived by a son, Robert Silverman of Vancouver, WA, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services were private with entombment in the Star of David Cemetery Mausoleum, North Lauderdale, FL.

A Celebration of Bernadine’s Life is planned for April 23rd, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Carol.
