Victoria A. Shawool

Victoria A. Shawool, 87, of Danbury, died on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Filosa for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Danbury.

“Vicki” was born in Lawrence, MA, March 23, 1923, daughter of George and Maria (David) Shawool.  She moved with her family from Lawrence to Danbury in 1927, first settling on Elm Street. She later shared her time between Danbury and Florida and in later years was a resident of Palace View, Danbury.

She attended Danbury schools and graduated from NY Beauty School, New York, NY.

A hairdresser and beautician, she was first employed with Milady’s Beauty Shop of Danbury and later owned and operated Vicki’s Beauty Shop in Danbury.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking and the casinos as well as spending time with her family and most especially; nieces, grandniece and grandnephew.

A member of St. Anthony Maronite Church, she was a former member of the Ladies Guild and the Mercy Meal Committee.

Vicki is survived by two nieces, Susan L. Shields and her husband, Robert of Hamden, CT and Audrienne A. Lahoud of Danbury; a grandnephew, Nicholas Lahoud and a grandniece, Sarah Lahoud.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Shawool and Jennie Lahoud.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection will take place on Saturday, March 19th at 10 AM in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Jean Younes, officiating.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

There will be no calling hours.

Contributions to St. Anthony Church Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
