Philip H. Piser

Philip H. Piser, 93, of Ridgefield, husband of the late May (Moore) Piser, died on Monday, March 14, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Piser was born in the Bronx, NY, February 21, 1918, son of Philip B. and Elinor (McCarthy) Piser, resided and educated in Westchester County.

A World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, Mr. Piser has been a resident of Ridgefield since 1938, first being employed with the Outpost Nurseries and then became a salesman of heavy equipment and truck parts.

He was active in scouting, attained the rank of Eagle Scout and then continued as a Boy Scout leader.

Mr. Piser enjoyed antique cars.

He was a member of the Marquette Council Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Mary Parish.

Mr. Piser is survived by his daughter, Mary E. Coleman and her husband, Donald of Ridgefield; a son, Philip J. Piser of Danbury; three grandchildren, David Jaehnig and his wife, Jennifer, Stephen Jaehnig and Michael Jaehnig as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Piser was predeceased by a sister, Susan Powers and by a brother, Eugene Piser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 19th at 10:15 AM in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.

Burial will take place in St. Mary Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
