JoAnn Petzold

JoAnn Petzold, 64 of Danbury, wife of Warren A. Petzold died surrounded by her loving family at her residence peacefully on Thursday morning, September 1, 2011.

Mrs. Petzold was born in Port Chester, NY, April 29, 1947, a daughter of the late John P. and Lucille E. (Needham) Quadrine.  She attended Mamaroneck, NY schools graduated from Rye Neck High School in the Class of 1965 and received her Associate’s Degree from Pace University.

JoAnn married Warren A. Petzold in 1970.

A resident of Danbury since 1973 coming from Port Chester, NY, she was a former customer service representative for Duracell Corporation of Bethel and for the past 10 years was an office manager for Dr. Frederick A. Kayal of Brookfield.

Mrs. Petzold was a former Girl Scout Leader of Troop 128 of Danbury, enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as travelling with her friends, the Field Family of Tucker, Georgia.

She was a member of the King Street United Church of Christ of Danbury and of its Hospitality Committee.

In addition of her husband Warren of Danbury, JoAnn is survived by two sons, Jeffrey W. Petzold and his wife, Lisa and Daniel E. Petzold all of Danbury; a daughter, Kimberly A. O’Brien and her husband, Robert J. of Danbury; a sister, Nancy J. Patafio and her husband, Warren of Chester, NY; four grandchildren, Lucia, Connor, Chloe and Caylin; a nephew, Warren Patafio, Jr.; two nieces, Karen Flanigan and Elena Cutro and a great nephew, Adrian.

A Service of Life and Celebration will take place on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:30 am in the King Street United Church of Christ, 201 S. King Street, Danbury with the Rev. Cindy Maddox, Pastor officiating.

Interment will take place in Greenwood Union Cemetery,  215 North Street, Rye, NY on Saturday at 9:30am prior to the Service of Life and Celebration.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, September 2nd from 6 pm to 9 pm.
