William J. Pauly

William J. Pauly, 68 of Ridgefield, husband of Janice (Tesoriero) Pauly died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.

Mr. Pauly was born in Cleveland, Ohio, April 9, 1943, a son of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Halapi) Pauly.

He attended Cleveland schools, John Marshall High School-Class of 1961, Columbia University and graduated from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics.

Upon graduation, Mr. Pauly was employed as a dormitory director for State University of New York at Cortland where he met his wife.  He later became a sales representative for twenty two years with Xerox Corporation and seven years with Konica Corporation.  He retired eight years ago.

Mr. Pauly was a resident of Ridgefield since coming from Cortland, NY, in 1979 and was passionate about cooking, the American train industry, and antique automobiles.   He enjoyed spending his free time restoring his classic convertible and had an encyclopedic knowledge of every car on the road

In addition to his wife of forty-one years, Mr. Pauly is survived by a son, Daniel L. Pauly of Washington, DC; a brother, Edward Pauly and his wife, Kay of Imlay City, Michigan; a sister, Leona Beck and her husband, Kenneth of North Royalton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Friday at 7:30 pm in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

Interment will be private and at the direction of the family.

Friends will be received in the Kane Funeral Home on Friday from 5 pm to 8 pm.
