Theodore Palmer

Theodore-palmerTheodore “Ted” Palmer, 84 of Ridgefield, husband of the late Adele (Wigley) Palmer, died on Thursday evening, August 18, 2011 at the Danbury Hospital Emergency Room after being stricken ill at home.

Mr. Palmer was born in Trenton, NJ, August 30, 1926, son of Theodore R. and Catherine (Rieker) Palmer.  He attended Trenton schools, Trenton High School where he played football and was the team quarterback and graduated from Bucknell University.

He was a U.S. World War II and Korean War veteran having served with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Palmer was a retired appraiser and title searcher having worked throughout the years with the Equitable Co., Union Trust Co. and Security Title of Stamford.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1961 coming from New Jersey, he was a member of the Ridgefield Lions Club and St. Stephen Episcopal Church of Ridgefield.  He enjoyed carpentry, cabinetmaking and walking at the Danbury Fair Mall.

Mr. Palmer is survived by two sons, David T. Palmer and his wife,  Carla and Teddy Palmer and  his fiancé, Angela Pandiscia; a sister, Louise Wigley of Pennington, NJ; two grandchildren, Anna and Kyle Palmer; two step—grandchildren, Hattie Wilson and Rachel Inzitari and two great grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and burial with military honors will take place on Wednesday at 11:30am in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield with the Rev. Doug Osgood officiating. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield on Tuesday from 5 pm to 8 pm.
