Rose M. Murad

Rose M. Murad, 82 of Danbury, died on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Lake Worth, FL.

Miss Murad was born in Boston, MA, September 24, 1928, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Murad) Murad.  A resident of Danbury for the past seventy years, she attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School-Class of 1946.

She was a retired secretary for the former Larsen, Durgy and Melillo accounting firm and later Melillo and Mitchell.

Miss Murad was a member of St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury and of its Ladies Guild.

She is survived by three brothers, Elias Murad of Dubois, PA, Mitchell Murad of Plymouth, MA and Peter Murad of Newtown, CT; three sisters, Sadie Bailey of Danbury, Sophie Gradia of Wellington, FL and Jeanette Bowman of Peachtree City, GA and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her parents, Miss Murad was predeceased by a sister, Anna Knapp.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 10 am in St. Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 17 Granville Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Jean Younes, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at St. Anthony Church on Saturday from 9 am to 10 am.
