Mary T. Kelly

Mary T. Kelly, 83 of Danbury, wife of Robert J. Kelly died on Saturday morning, September 10, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Kelly was born in the Bronx, New York, April 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Patrick and Delia (Walsh) McEvoy.  Raised in the Bronx, Mrs. Kelly graduated from Cathedral Prepatory School, Manhattan, NY and was employed at Fordham University in the office and library and later was a paraprofessional with the New York Public School system retiring in 1990 after 20 years of service.

An area resident for the past 5 years coming from Clifton Park, New York, she was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury.

She enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy, attending Saratoga Raceway and most especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Robert J. Kelly she is survived by a son, Robert E. Kelly and his wife, Diane of Ridgefield; a daughter, Geraldine Kelly and her husband, John Scully of the Bronx, NY; a brother, Vincent McEvoy of Riverhead, NY; three grandchildren, Robby, Ryan and Amanda Kelly as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield with Rev. Joseph A. Prince officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Raymond Cemetery, the Bronx, New York.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.
