William E. Jackson, Jr.

William Edward Jackson, Jr., 93, of Ridgefield, husband of Elizabeth (Foreman) Jackson, died on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Jackson was born April 19, 1918, in Stamford, Connecticut, the son of the late William Edward and Emily (Eckhard) Jackson.

He attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School in 1935.

A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was a Staff Sergeant in Company A Signal Battalion serving in the China-Burma-India campaign. He earned the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal and was honorably discharged on December 24, 1945.

For 40 years, Mr. Jackson worked for Pitney-Bowes in Stamford, Connecticut, retiring in 1980 as Suggestions System Manager.

Bill was a talented artist whose sketches and paintings hang in the homes of family and friends.

in addition to his beloved wife, Elizabeth of 64 years, Mr. Jackson is survived by four daughters, Sandra D. Jenny and husband, Brian, of Winchester, VA, Donna C. Drumm, of Danbury, Wendy A. Myers, of Elgin, SC, and Tracey A. Jackson, of Danbury; a niece, Denise Johnson, of Fairfield, CT;  seven grandchildren, Jack, Jenny and Kate Drumm, Kristen Myers and Timothy Myers, Michael Scarlett, Amy Scarlett  and Lauren Scarlett; and one great-grandson, Thomas Pakiela.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011, at 2:00 P. M., in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield with the Rev. Charles Hambrick-Stowe of the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home after 1:30 P.M.
