Margaret (Ondecko) Dzubak

Margaret DzubakMargaret (Ondecko) Dzubak, 92 of Danbury, wife of the late Joseph Dzubak died on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury.

Marge was born in Czechoslovakia, May 13, 1918, a daughter of John and Anne (Zuzalock) Ondecko.  She immigrated to the United States in 1926, settling in Danbury where she attended Danbury schools.

In early years, Mrs. Dzubak was an au pair for the Henry Dick family and later became a home companion and a nurse assistant. 

She also was a member of the wait staff at the former Chatham Oaks, Danbury and an inspector at the former Capitol Machine Shop.

Mrs.  Dzubak was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church of Danbury and a member of the Altar Society and Golden Dome Bakers.  She also served a past secretary of the Greek Catholic Union.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Dzubak of Southbury, a brother, Edward Ondecko of Stratford, CT, a sister, Anne True of Holcomb, Wisconsin; a half sister, Dorothy Tutko and half brother, Kenneth Tutko and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dzubak was predeceased by a brother, John Ondecko.

The family will receive friends at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 13 Pembroke Road, Danbury on Sunday, March 27th from 4 PM to 6 PM.

The Parastas service will be held on Sunday at 6 PM with the Rev. Michael G. Popson officiating.

Interment will take place on Monday, March 28th at 10 AM in Section 14 of St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
