Bruce Becker

            Bruce Becker, a lover of life, died on Wednesday, July 13. The husband and sole mate of Beth Becker, father of Sara Oppenheimer of Sacramento, CA, grandfather of Noah, brother of Arlene Friedman of Scottsdale, AZ and friend to many, Bruce was born in New York City and moved to Ridgefield a long, long time ago.

            An entertainment attorney by profession, Bruce was a true Renaissance man with achievements ranging from backgammon to Broadway to film. He authored “Backgammon for Blood” and “Decisions, Getting What You Want” as well as the award-winning film, “Three.” He was active in the Ridgefield community, serving on the Board of Directors of both The Ridgefield Playhouse and the Ridgefield Community Center.

            A private service for Bruce’s family will be held. Bruce’s favorite philanthropy causes were the Ridgefield VNA and The Ridgefield Playhouse, in addition to Beth and his apricot-colored Bella.

            Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield was in charge of arrangements.
