Betty T. Antous

Betty AntousBetty T. Antous, 77 of 13 Alexander D Avenue, Danbury wife of the late Frederick Antous died at her home on Saturday, June 25, 2011.

Mrs. Antous was born in Waterbury, CT, October 5, 1933, daughter of Joseph and Julia (Chakar) Wakeem.  She resided in Waterbury until 1943 when she moved to Miami Florida. 

She graduated from Miami High School in 1951, and she returning to Danbury in 1954 upon her marriage.  She has been a Danbury resident for the past 57 years.

Mrs. Antous was the office manager of the family owned and operated Light Rock Spring Water and Soda Company of Danbury.

She was a member of the Lebanon American Club Auxiliary Club of Danbury, the Ma-Asser Society and of St. Ann’s Melkite Catholic Church of Danbury and its Ladies Guild.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, bowling and most especially the time shared with her family and friends.  Betty will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Antous is survived by a daughter, Patricia Madkour and her husband, Bechara; four sons, Thomas Antous and his wife, Sonya, Richard Antous and his wife, Jo-Anna, Frederick Antous and his wife, Randa and Joseph Antous and his wife, Laurie; a sister in law, Freda Antous and thirteen grandchildren, Alicia, Ashley, Thomas, Nicole, Richard, Michael, Mark, George, Julie, Zeina, Rima, Brittney, and Brooke.

The Rite of Burial will take place on Thursday, June 30th at 10:30 AM in St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 181 Clapboard Ridge Road, (Rt. 39 N), Danbury with Archimandrite Michael K. Skrocki officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Contributions to St. Ann Church in Mrs. Antous ‘honor and memory would be most appreciated.

The Trisagion prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
