James Joseph Watson

James Joseph Watson, 87,(NYPD ret.) passed away on 2 Feb 2010 at Bayside of Poquoson, VA.

Predeceased by his wife, Nan; and son, James, and grandson, John, he is survived by his two daughters; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and sister.

Jim defended his country in World War II as a Marine in the Pacific and on the streets of New York City as a Police Officer for over thirty years.  He was fiercely loyal to family and friends, amusing, and generous to those in need.

In addition to our private tributes to them, Jim would want to acknowledge publicly his and our gratitude to the loving caretakers of Dominion Village Retirement Village and Bayside of Poquoson.  The incredible care and compassion Bayside demonstrated during his last days will remain in our minds and hearts.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, Feb. 7 at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury, CT . Funeral services will take place at 10am on Monday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
