Eleanore C. Voorhees, 77, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Harold “Bud” Voorhees, dies on Monday morning, April 12, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center, St. Albans, VT.

Mrs. Voorhees was born in New York, NY, November 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Ilsebein (Zacharius) Koch.  She attended New York schools.

She was a retired school system secretary.

A resident of Ridgefield since 1960 coming from the Bronx, Mrs. Voorhees was a member of Founders Hall and of St. Mary’s Church.

She is survived by  two daughters, Barbara (Tony) Adams of Fairfax, VT and Carol (Steve) Pierce of Brookfield, CT; a son, H. John (Patricia) Voorhees of Bethel, CT; and eight grandchildren, William, Liz, Katie, Doug, Jake, Alex, Missy and Sam and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 16, 2010 in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield. Interment will take place at the direction of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
