Tibor  G. Varga

Tibor G. Varga, 89, of Redding, formerly of Ridgefield, died on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at his home.

He was the beloved husband of the late Gizella Hoyer Varga.

Mr. Varga was born in Budapest, Hungary. September 3, 1920, a son of the late Michael and Maria Zimmerman Varga.
He attended schools in Budapest, Hungary.

Mr. Varga immigrated to the United States in 1956 coming from Hungary and first settling in Danbury, residing there until 1963.  A forty-two year resident of Ridgefield, Mr. Varga and his wife Gizella moved to Meadow Ridge, Redding in 2005.

A tool and die maker, Mr. Varga was employed by Schlumberger-Doll of Ridgefield and in 1972 established the Gamma Instrument and Tool Company of Danbury. He retired in 1985. He and his wife Gizella could always be found outside working in their beautiful gardens. He loved to garden, build stone walls, create beautiful landscapes, and tinker with anything that was mechanical in nature.

Mr. Varga was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield. A beloved husband and father he is survived by a son, Tibor Peter Varga and his wife, Joanne of Newtown, CT; a daughter, Gabriella Anne Varga and her husband, William Henning of Boalsburg, PA; a brother, Julius Varga and his wife, Kathy of Pomfret, CT; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary and Taylor as well as several nieces and nephews and two dear cousins Janos and Laszlo Schaeffer.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Varga was predeceased by a brother, Laszlo Varga.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield, CT on Thursday, June 24th, 2010 at 9:30 AM.  The Rev. Joseph A. Prince, pastor, will officiate.

There will be no calling hours.

The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Meadow Ridge for their excellent care and kindness shown to both our parents and ourselves.
