Jane E. Thompson

Jane E. Thompson, 77, of Brookfield, formerly of Ridgefield, wife of the late William H. Thompson died on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Thompson was born in New York, NY, August 19, 1932 daughter of Alexander and Cynthia (Hamlin) DuFlon.  She attended St. Agnes High School in College Point, NY, and graduated from Katherine Gibbs School.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired executive assistant having worked for Equitable Life Insurance in New York, Homequity in Wilton for over 20 years, and Marder’s Landscaping in Bridgehampton, NY.
An area residence from 1965 to 1981 having come from New York, Mrs. Thompson raised her family in Ridgefield, moved to Hampton Bays, NY where she lived until 2000, then returned to Brookfield, CT to be closer to family.  She attended St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield and St. Joseph’s Church in Brookfield.
Mrs. Thompson’s interests included league bowling with friends in her younger years and assisting in the care of infants between birth and adoption in her later years.  However, her greatest joy was always her family, most especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Fossi and her husband, Joseph of Ridgefield; two sons, James Thompson of Brookfield and Edward Thompson and his wife Laura of Newtown and six grandchildren, Jamie, Samantha, Ashley, Courtney, Alex and Brendan. 
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was predeceased by two beloved sisters, Cynthia M. Thompson who lived in Ridgefield, and her twin sister, Eileen V. Scallon, who lived in Riverhead, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield with the Rev. Paul G. Murphy officiating.
Burial will take place in St. John’s Cemetery, Middle Village. New York.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday from 6PM to 8PM.
