Ray  Saul Stark

Mrs. Ray Stark, 79, of Danbury, wife of the late Frank Stark died Friday, March 19, 2010.
Mrs. Stark was born in Dorchester, MA, September 2, 1930, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Saul. She attended Dorchester schools and graduated from Codman Square High School for Girls in the Class of 1947.
She married Frank Stark in 1949 in Roxbury, MA.  They were married for 49 years until his passing in 1997.
Mrs. Stark worked for many years alongside her husband in the family business, the former N.Y. Bake Shop.
She also volunteered for many charitable organizations throughout her lifetime; most especially Regional Hospice of Western CT, the Senior Center and the American Red Cross. One of the many pleasures she had was a volunteer in the Danbury School system working with children and being an advocate for Special Education.  Through her untiring efforts and driving force, Special Education in the Danbury School system reached fruition.
She is survived by a daughter and her spouse, Linda and Hal Walther of Danbury; four sons and their spouses, Hal and Diane  Stark of Monroe, Steven Stark of Tamarac, FL, Adam and Louise Stark of O’Fallon, MO and Daniel Stark of Danbury and beloved grandmother of nine , Courtney, Sam, Aaron and his spouse, Danielle, Micha, Benjamin and Chaya, Connor, Timothy and Molly.
She will be sorely missed by her children and grandchildren.  As described by her grandchildren, “she was an awesome woman, who thought of others first”.
Graveside funeral services and burial will take place on  Sunday, March 21st at 12 noon in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, 204 Gray’s Bridge Rd., Brookfield with Rabbi Sholom Deitsch of Chabad of Northern Fairfield County officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Stark’s memory may be made to one’s own favorite charity.
A Period of Mourning will be observed at 15 East Gate Rd., Danbury with Minyan on Sunday evening at 7 O’clock.
