Robert J. Morganti

Robert J. Morganti, 73, a lifelong Ridgefielder died at Danbury Hospital on December 8, 2010.

He was the husband of Pamela (Watson) Morganti.

Mr. Morganti was born in Ridgefield April 22, 1937, a son of John S. and Elizabeth (Ermo) Morganti. He attended Ridgefield schools, graduated from Ridgefield High School in the Class of 1954 and attended the University of Bridgeport.

He was a peacetime U.S. Army veteran.

After receiving  his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Mr. Morganti along with his brothers built Morganti Inc. into one of the United States’ largest contracting firms.

Mr. Morganti served on the board of the Ridgefield Bank (currently known as Fairfield County Bank) and the board of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association.

He and his wife, Pamela were honored by the Danbury Hospital for their gift of the Wound Care Center and Hyperbaric Medicine.

In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, Mr. Morganti is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mr. Morganti, in addition to his parents, was predeceased by his brothers, John, Joseph and Paul and by his sister, Gloria Marchison.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 15th at 10:15am in St. Mary Church, 55 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

Interment will take place at the direction of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
