Howard S. Miller, Sr.

Howard S. Miller, Sr., 86, of Ridgefield, husband of Esther(Boylan) Miller died on Friday, March 19, 2010 at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born in Brooklyn, NY, August 21, 1923 and raised in Rockville Centre, NY. 
He was a son of the late Harry and Helen (Hedwell) Miller.
Mr. Miller attended Rockville Centre schools, Hofstra University and graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic School with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
He was a retired electrical engineer with IBM.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past five years coming from Wappinger Falls, NY, he enjoyed painting with oils and water colors, woodworking, furniture making and wood carving. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed basketball, reading and history.
A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
In addition to his wife of sixty-two years, he is survived by three sons, Thomas Miller of Sterling, PA, Robert (Vickie) Miller of Chapel Hill, NC and Howard (Michele) Miller Jr. of Southbury, CT; two daughters, Lorraine (Michael) Granger of Newfane, VT and Mary (Michael) Connolly of Ridgefield; two brothers, Robert Miller of St. Louis, MO and Harry Miller of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister, Dolores Agnello of Wilmington, DE; eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
Burial will take place at the direction of the family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Monday from 7PM to 9PM.
