Agnes M. McMurray

Agnes M. McMurray, 89, of Ridgefield, wife of the late Richard McMurray, died on Friday, December 17, 2010 in Glen Cove, L.I. New York.

Mrs. McMurray was born in Redford, NY, August 26, 1921, daughter of Leslie and Isabelle (Pellerin) Dubray.  She received her education in the Redford school system and graduated from Sallaz Academy.

Mrs. McMurray moved to Yorktown, NY in 1940 and later a resident of Somers, NY, South Salem, NY and Ridgefield, CT.

In 1971, Mrs. McMurray established The Strap Hinge Shop in Pound Ridge which sold over the years clothing, antiques and gifts.  She maintained the business for thirty-five years.

As a Ridgefield resident, Mrs. McMurray was associated with the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, was a resident of Ballard Green and a member of St. Mary Parish.

She is survived by six daughters, Louise Anne Daly and her husband, Robert of Lewis, NY and Sebastian, FL, Mildred Morisco of Huntington, L.I. NY, Peggy Clark of Loughlin, NV, Claire Towler and her husband, Joseph of Winter Haven, FL, Tisa Bailey of Danbury, CT and Terry Arbi of So. Salem, NY; eighteen grandchildren and twelve  great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McMurray was predeceased by two sons, Joseph Taylor and William Stuart Taylor and by her two siblings, William Dubray and Leda DeDio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010 at 10:15am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield with Rev. Russell Augustine, parochial vicar, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Augustine Cemetery, Ossining, NY.

The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 from 5PM to 8PM.
