Marian Bernstein Jame, age 85, of Tamarac Florida and former long-time resident of Danbury died December 13, 2010 at Masonicare of Newtown. She was born October 31, 1925 in Danzig, Poland.
Marian graduated from Danbury High School and the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists. She was a dental hygienist in the Danbury area for 35 years for Dr Jack Buchman, Dr Michael Rifkin, and her son Dr Jeffrey Bernstein until her retirement.
Marian had many hobbies but her favorite was tending to her flowers and gardening. She also loved flower arranging, sculpture, painting and decorating. She was very artistic and created many of her own sculptures.
She was active in her community both in Tamarac and Danbury. She was a former member of the United Jewish Center and served on their Board of trustees. She volunteered for many years at Coral Springs Hospital in Florida.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Bernard Bernstein, and by her second husband, Jerome Jame.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Bernstein and his wife, Karla of Newtown, CT.,
and Robert Bernstein and his wife Judi, of Tampa, FL and a daughter, Shelley Cooper and her husband, Jeff, of Calabasas CA; granddaughters and grandsons: Beth Guerrera and husband Anthony, Alison Cordova and husband Jeremy of Sandy Hook CT, Alec Bernstein of Chicago IL, Rachel Schilowitz and husband Daniel of Teaneck NJ, Benjamin Cooper and Shayna Cooper of New York City, NY, Joseph Cooper of Malkiya, Israel, and Marc Cooper of Calabasas CA; and four great-grandchildren: Ashley and Christopher Guerrera, and Jayden and Addison Cordova; also a stepson Mark Jame of Golden Bridges NY., and four step grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday, December 16th at 1:30PM at the United Jewish Center, Deer Hill Ave, Danbury CT., with internment at Miry Brook Cemetery. A memorial meal will be held at the United Jewish Center following the internment. Donations may be made to Susan B. Koman Foundation, The Arthritis Foundation, and The Soref Jewish Community Center of Coral Springs FL.
