Vivien (Hull) Heim 81, of Amesbury MA, formerly of Ridgefield, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at her home.
Vivien was born in Ridgefield on August 3, 1928 to Harry and Elsie (Rux) Hull. A graduate of Ridgefield High School and Western Connecticut State Teachers College, she was a music educator who spent most of her professional career as a devoted teacher at Farmingville Elementary School. Vivien deeply loved Ridgefield and her home of 45 years in Ridgebury; members of her family had lived in the town since before the Revolutionary War, and her father served for several terms as the town's first selectman and led the Ridgefield Memorial Day Parade for many years.   

Vivien was devoted to her family, loved music and the natural beauty of her native Connecticut; enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader.

 She is survived by her daughters, Amanda V. Sawyer of Denver CO and Abigail M. Heim of Rowley MA; her sister, Marcia H. Maresca of North Haven CT, her nieces and nephews, Vicki, Chris and Mark Maresca and Suzanne Bakula and her cherished grand nieces and  grand nephew.

Funeral services will take place on Monday evening; March 1, 2010 at 7PM in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

Interment will take place in Mapleshade Cemetery, Ridgefield in the spring.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Monday after 4PM.
