Carol A. Hagadorn
 

Carol A. Hagadorn, 68, of Ridgefield, a retired Ridgefield educator, died on Sunday evening, August 29, 2010 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.
Mrs. Hagadorn was the wife of Robert E. Hagadorn.

Born in the Bronx, NY, a daughter of the late Peter and Marcella (Ludwig) Borzon., she attended NY schools and graduated from St. John’s University with an emphasis in Chinese studies.

An educator since 1965, Mrs. Hagadorn was employed in the Bronx and Yonkers school systems and for twenty years in the Ridgefield school system retiring in 1995.  She taught history and social studies in addition to leading other various extra curricular activities for students.

A resident of Ridgefield for the past thirty-eight years coming from Yonkers, NY, she was active in open space issues, Friends of Bennetts Pond, the Meals on Wheels program and St. Mary’s Church, where she was a former catechist.

In her early years she was an avid skier and runner and throughout her life she maintained an affection for animals and a strong interest in politics and government.

In addition to her husband of forty-five years, she is survived by two daughters, Cathleen Hagadorn of Bethel, CT and Rebecca Goetz of New Milford, CT; a sister, Jeanne K. Borzon of Hartsdale, NY and two grandchildren, Steven and Shane.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
