Gerald G. Griffin


Gerald G. Griffin, 71, of Danbury, formerly of Ridgefield, died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Danbury Hospital.
He was the husband of Charlotte (Jahnke) Griffin.
Mr. Griffin was born in New York, NY, April 17, 1938, a son of the late Gordon and Helen (O’Brien) Griffin and was raised in Manhasset, NY where he attended local schools and later graduated from Gettysburg College.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Griffin was a retired associate director with CBS television beginning his career in 1956 and retiring in 2000.
An area resident since 1972 coming from Roslyn, NY, he was active in the Ridgefield community.  He coached little league baseball, a member and former treasurer of the Ridgefield Rotary Club and former member of St. Stephen’s Church and of its choir.
He enjoyed sailing, cooking, UConn Women’s basketball and watching television.
In addition to his wife, Charlotte of eighteen years, he is survived by a son, Sean G. Griffin and his wife, Staci of Boulder, CO; a daughter, Leslie G. Siraco and her husband, Paul of Middleton, MA; a stepson, Christopher Outlaw of Boise, ID; two brothers, Thomas Griffin and his wife Cathy of Glen Cove, NY and Paul Griffin and his wife Irene of Jeffersonville, NY; two sisters, Eileen Relyea and her husband David of Oyster Bay, NY and Patricia Griffin of Butler, New Jersey and four grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at 1PM in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.
The family will receive friends after 12:30PM.
