Selina Murphy-Gantek

Selina Marcoux Murphy-Gamtek, 84, of Laurel Ridge Health Care Center, 642 Danbury Rd., Ridgefield, died at the Danbury Hospital on Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Mrs. Murphy-Gantek was the wife of the late Stanley Gantek.

She was born in South Berwick, Maine, February 7, 1926, a daughter of the late Albert and Delvina (Jalbert) Marcoux she was raised and educated in Bridgeport, CT.  Mrs. Murphy-Gantek was a former employee of General Electric Corporation and Raytheon.  In later years, Mrs. Murphy-Gantek was a homemaker.

A resident of Laurel Ridge for the past fifteen years, she had resided in Shelton moving from Bridgeport.

She is survived by a son, James A. Marcoux of Stratford, CT; two daughters, Gayla Gillette-Longman and her husband, Stuart of Ridgefield and Master Sgt. Gwen Radford U.S.A.F (Retired) and her husband, Sr. Master Sgt. James A, Radford of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Rose Marcoux Loughlin of Bridgeport and Gloria Marcous Yanosey of Stratford; a sister in law, Katherine Marcoux of New Market, NH;  nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:15am in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield.

Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.

There will be no calling hours.

Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
