Noel  A.  Edman

Noel A. Edman, 76, of Waccabuc, NY, wife of Donald H. Edman, died on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, N.Y.
Noel Edman was born in Mineola, NY, March 14, 1934, daughter of the late John and Teresa Nelson.   Noel attended New York schools and received her Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University.  Prior to becoming a homemaker, she was an educator with the East Williston, L.I., NY school district.
An area resident since 1967, Noel was a committed citizen to her community.  She served as a member, and past president, of the P.T.A., and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.  In addition, Noel participated in many community projects in the Katonah-Lewisboro area, such as serving as a member of the Board of the Cross River Group Home.
A person who enjoyed sharing her time, talent and energy with others, she enjoyed entertaining at home.  She was an exceptional cook, gardener, loved animals, enjoyed tennis, and was a talented artist. She was also a very knowledgeable movie and trivia buff.
Mrs. Edman was a member of the Waccabuc Country Club and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church, Ridgefield.
In addition to Don, her husband of fifty-four years, Noel is survived by a son, Donald N. Edman of Yonkers, NY, and four daughters:  Denise M. Lupia and her husband, David of Ridgefield, CT, Kathleen E. Segal and her husband, Stephen of Oakland, CA, Lisa A. Terramoccia and her husband, Robert of West Milford, NJ, and Gabrielle N. Briggs and her husband, Jason of New Milford, CT.  She had five grandsons, Kyle Terramoccia, Casey Terramoccia, Carson Martabano, Taylor Briggs and Avery Briggs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21st at 10:15am in St. Mary’s Church,  Ridgefield, CT.,  with Msgr. Laurence J. Bronkiewicz officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.
The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Wednesday, October 20th from 5PM to 8PM.
Contributions in Mrs. Edman’s honor and memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
