Pamela  J.  Berry

Pamela J. Berry. 63, of Ridgefield, wife of Harold Huberfeld, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Danbury Hospital.

Pamela was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 28, 1947 to Austin and Maebelle (Rowan) Berry. Her father was a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, and she resided in many parts of the world during her upbringing.

She attended High Point College of High Point, NC, St. Mary of the Woods College of Terre Haute, Indiana and Western CT State University where she obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She married Harold Huberfeld in 1976.

Pamela was a Family Relations Counselor with the State of Connecticut Superior Court System and volunteered her services at the Women’s Center of Danbury and for the past 12 years had been group facilitator at Ann’s Place-Home of I Can.

“Pam was a well loved volunteer group facilitator for Ann’s Place,” said Wilda Hayes, Executive Director of Ann’s Place. “Her warmth, compassion and welcoming smile endeared her both to her clients and to the staff at Ann’s Place, where she will be deeply missed.”

Coming from Chicago, she had been an area resident since 1982.

In addition to her husband of thirty-five years, Pamela is survived by a son, Rev. Canon Aaron B. Huberfeld of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Kira Estrade and her husband, Carl of Royan, France and their children, Loïc and Liane, and by a sister, Sandra K. Gellert of Bryn Mawr, PA.

“Pam was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be sorely missed by all of us,” said her husband. “She supported her children in all their endeavors and enriched the lives of everyone around her.”

Viewing of the body will take place from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, January 10 in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 11 at 11AM after an additional viewing at 10 AM.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
