William Cassian Dwyer

JWilliam Cassian Dwyer, 65, a resident of Westchester Co., died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, January 18, 2009 surrounded by his loving  family.  Bill was the son of the late White Plains Commissioner of Public Safety, James J. and Gertrude K. Dwyer.  He was born in Manhattan, September 3, 1943 and attended Stepinac High School in White Plains and Xavier College.  After serving in the U.S. Army, Bill became a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Narcotics which became the Drug Enforcement Agency.  He helped pioneer international relations with other countries to prevent the narcotic trade. He became a consultant with INTERPASS, Ltd., an international security firm in Irvington, NY.   He is survived by his wife, Pamela (nee Kappmeyer) Dwyer, three children; Jillian, Courtney and William, two brothers; James and Dennis, a sister; Terry O’Leary, and several nieces and nephews as well as friends of Bill W.  His amazing wit and sense of humor will be remembered.  To all who knew him, he was a wonderful, generous and giving friend.  We are blessed to have known him and had him in our lives.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 10:15 A.M. IN St. Mary’s Church, 55 Catoonah St, Ridgefield.   Interment will be private.  Friends will be received in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, CT www.kanefuneralhome.net on Wednesday (today) from 5PM to 8PM.  Contributions may be made to the Northern Westchester Hospital Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center, 400 East Main St., Mt. Kisco, NY  10549.
